Firs School pupils are world record holders

Tennis challenge has been approved by Guiness World Records

Year 3 and 4 pupils at The Firs School in Chester are Guinness World Record holders.

Last year the youngsters spent a day out at the Liverpool tennis tournament, where alongside 830 others they attempted to break the world record for the largest tennis lesson and the greatest number of people simultaneously bounding a ball on a tennis racket.

The event was declared a success but the organisers had to wait for the Guiness World Records to officially declare the attempt a world record.

Headteacher Lucy Davies said: “The day was an opportunity for our pupils to try tennis and many are now members of the school’s tennis club. We like to encourage all our pupils to try out and participate in various sports and are proud that some of our pupils are World Record Holders!”
