An investigation is under way after fire ripped through a house in Blacon.
The blaze broke out in the living room of the semi-detached property in Saughall Road just before 10pm on Friday (January 29).
Four firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used two hose-reels and a main jet to tackle the fire which had spread upstairs.
Cheshire Fire & Rescue Service says ‘everyone at the property was accounted for'. A powerful fan was used to clear the house of smoke.
The adjoining property was checked to make sure there was no fire spread.
A fire brigade spokeswoman confirmed there was a joint police and fire investigation into the cause of the blaze.
She added: “We are waiting for the results of the fire investigation.”
Cheshire Police were called to manage traffic outside the scene on what is a main route into and out of the Blacon estate.
North West Ambulance Service had no record of having visited the property.
