Firefighters have been tackling a blaze on an unoccupied bus in Chester.

Crews had to wear specialist breathing apparatus to deal with the fire on a passenger bus in Princess Street just after 10am on Wednesday, February 12.

Cllr Samantha Dixon, who was travelling into the city at the time, said: "It was very dramatic. The emergency services were there which was very reassuring."

A high pressure fan was used to clear smoke from the vehicle, which was also checked for further hot spots.

Police also attended the scene to control traffic.

The cause of the fire is not yet known.

Chronicle reader Fiona Rose who was in the area at the time sent us this video of the fire.
