The fire service dealt with an incident at a community venue in Whitby on Wednesday morning

A fire broke out in the kitchen of Whitby Sports and Social Club in Ellesmere Port on Wednesday morning (February 10).

Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service was called to the facility on Dunkirk Lane at around 8.30am.

One hose reel and one main water jet were used to extinguish the blaze.

Two fire engines from Ellesmere Port and one from Deeside attended.
