CHILDREN and young people are being invited to set out on a magical journey that could lead them to this year’s production of the Chester Mystery Plays.

The invitation comes from director Peter Leslie Wild, writer Stephanie Dale and composer and musical director Matt Baker of this summer’s spectacular production.

Workshops for children and young people held in November were such a success the artistic team has decided to hold more this month.

“We want to make sure that anyone interested in taking part can have the opportunity,” said Peter. “But this will be the last chance because from that moment on we’ll be into the main production rehearsals.”

Matt is keen to encourage children and young people to join his chorus and said: “Staging the production in the nave of the cathedral will give us so many more musical opportunities.”

Children wishing to sing in the Chester Mystery Plays are invited to attend a workshop on Saturday, January 12, at 10am at Chester Cathedral.
