Chester MP Chris Matheson has officially opened a newly refurbished church in Chester.
The Festival Church in Queen Street will now be used as a community resource and performance venue with a new coffee shop open to the public in September.
The official opening marks the completion of a six-month building project.
Mr Matheson said: “It was great to join Festival Church on this important occasion. The refurbishment project has created a wonderful resource in the city centre, and I wish the church all the best for the future.”
Lead pastor of Festival Church Tim Rowlands said: “This is an exciting day in the life of Festival Church and I’d like to thank all those who have taken part in making it happen. It’s taken a huge amount of effort and significant investment, but the end result is worth it.
“I look forward to seeing the space reach its full potential.”
