Heartfelt tributes have been paid to a ‘devoted’ family man from Weaverham who was tragically killed in a crash in North Wales on Sunday (May 8).

John Anthony Bennett, 50, had been riding a Yamaha motorcycle which was involved in a collision with other vehicles on the A496 in Gwynedd at around 3pm.

Mr Bennett’s devastated loved ones said he loved going on days out on his motorbike with friends and attended the Isle of Man TT every year.

“John was a devoted family man who loved his family and fiancé very much,” they said in a statement released by North Wales Police.

'A lovely man'

“He was passionate about World Superbike, British Superbike, and a Moto GP supporter.”

Friends of Mr Bennett have posted messages of sympathy online.

In a post on Facebook, Carley Phipps told his family: “My thoughts are with you, he was a lovely man. I have lots of funny memories from when we were children.”

While Beckers tweeted simply: “RIP buddy, ride free...”

Mr Bennett died at the scene of the crash.

Coroner Dewi Pritchard Jones said an investigation had been opened into his death and an inquest would be held in due course.

North Wales Police are urging anybody with information to contact officers at the Roads Policing Unit on 101, quoting reference number U066077.
