A FAMILY-RUN furniture store is opening a new Chester shop on Saturday. Listers Interiors is returning to its city centre roots this weekend when it opens a new flag ship store in the Grosvenor Shopping Centre on the site of the former Pier store.

Mark Lister, who works at the family run business with his father, brother Jason and sister Claire, said: “The family is very excited to be returning to Chester. Moving into the Grosvenor Shopping Centre is the pinnacle of success for us and moving so close to where the business originally started also makes it very special.”

Specialising in handcrafted, reclaimed oak furniture, home furnishings, accessories and jewellery, the company was set up 42 years ago by Michael Lister on Commonhall Street.

Mark added: “The secret to our success has to be the quality of furniture and products we offer. Myself and my brother travel to Vietnam every year to source the furniture and we ensure we buy the products that our customers want.

“I think moving into the site of the old Pier shop will help because the people of Chester miss having a good quality furniture shop on their doorstep and we have already had customers asking about our products and when the shop will be opening. Judging on the success of our other four shops, we are hopeful that the Chester store will be just as popular.”

Julie Webb, general manager of the Grosvenor Shopping Centre, added: “The store opening is very positive news for the centre, not only is it creating 11 new jobs in the city, but the store is offering our customers exactly what they want, which is good quality products on their doorstep.”
