A CHESTER primary school had all the bear essentials for a successful Christmas fair.
The teddy tombola at Overleigh St Mary’s CE Primary School in Handbridge was one of the many highlights of the PTA’s annual event.
A charity auction with prizes including a golf package, a day at Chester races and a hotel spa day raised more than £800, adding to the total of more than £4,000.
Mike Benson, chairman of the PTA, said: “I would like to thank everyone who gave up their time to help to make the Christmas fair such a success. It was a wonderful evening and feedback from the children was they had a really good time. I would also like to thank all those who donated prizes for the raffle and the auction.
“We will be using the money to improve the environment in which the children learn.”
