OLYMPIC posters for the summer and winter games from 1896 are on display in the first event Cheshire West and Chester Council is staging in the run up to the Olympic torch arriving in the borough on May 29.

The colourful poster display is being exhibited at the Castle Park Arts Centre in Frodsham until February 22.

Councillor Stuart Parker, executive member for culture and recreation said: “These iconic posters are works of art in their own right.”

The posters will be on display at Chester’s Grosvenor Museum from April 7-June 17 and during August and September in many council libraries.
