A little girl from Ellesmere Port who suffers from a rare form of brittle bone disease got her Christmas off to a magical start when she was invited to meet the cast of Shrek the Musical at the Liverpool Empire.

Four-year-old Millie Simpson was treated to the VIP visit thanks to a Christmas appeal by Claire House Children’s Hospice, where she and her family receive support.

Claire House Stars is raising money to create special memories over the festive period for families caring for seriously or terminally ill children.

Millie was joined by her sister Lottie and parents Stevie and Tyler.

Making every day memorable

Lauren Luxton, who is managing the Claire House Stars campaign, said: “If anyone epitomises a Claire House Star, it’s the amazing children and young people we look after.

“It’s our job here at Claire House to put a smile on their faces and make every day as special and memorable as possible.

“But we simply couldn’t make that happen without people being Claire House Stars and donating this Christmas.

“We really are so grateful for every penny we receive, especially at this time of year when spending time as a family is on everyone’s mind.”

To support the Clare House Stars appeal, text STAR to 70500 to donate £5.

You will receive a text reply which contains instructions on how you can also get your own Claire House Star for your Christmas tree.
