A teenager has been charged with raping a woman in Ellesmere Port.

The 15-year-old, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, allegedly raped the female on May 5 this year.

The teenager, from Ellesmere Port, is also charged with a further offence of sexual assault, said to have occurred on the same date.

Appearing before Chester Magistrates Court today (Thursday, September 4) supported by his parents, the teenager spoke only to confirm his name.

He was released on unconditional bail and is due to appear before Chester Crown Court on September 16 for a preliminary hearing.
