Shoppers at the Port Arcades Shopping Centre in Ellesmere Port found plenty of fun on offer.

Comedy nun ‘Sister Ruth’ took to the mall bringing her own unique sense of fun and mayhem as she travelled through the centre on her piano entertaining shoppers with hilarious banter.

More than 300 children decorated gingerbread as part of what is now an annual Christmas favourite at the mall with families also enjoying free face painting and music from the Dee Signing choir.

A delighted audience gathered to listen to all female group Signature comprising Jeanie Brocklehurst, Jane Chance, Alison Sewell, Sharon Leicester and Davina Jones who sang a variety of Christmas songs and show tunes as part of the centre’s calendar of Christmas entertainment but also to raise money for the Hospice of the Good Shepherd.

They will be back on Saturday, December 17, between 1 and 3pm.

Frosty the Snowman was popular as he greeted shoppers on the mall.

Back by popular demand on Saturday will be Granny Turismo who always delights audiences whenever they appear in the Port Arcades on their souped up shopping trolleys.

There will also be music from the Fireflies Choir and another gingerbread decorating workshop.

On Sunday Mr Holly, a walkabout character, will entertain shoppers and Lord of the Wings will host a birds of prey display.
