An Ellesmere Port primary school is looking forward to a fit and healthy 2016 after agreeing a partnership with Total Gymnastics, a company owned and run by Britain’s most successful gymnast of all time, Beth Tweddle.
Beth, who comes from Bunbury, visited The Acorns Primary and Nursery School in Pooltown Road to agree a partnership to provide 10 hours a week of outstanding gymnastics coaching for the remainder of the school year.
This comes as part of a vision the school has to provide every child at The Acorns with at least two hours a week of high quality coaching for a range of different sports and activities.
The Acorns physical education subject leader Nathan Painter is also in the process of finalising an agreement with Platinum Dance and Sports to provide high quality coaching in sports and dance to all children.
There will also be focussed after-school clubs, giving children additional opportunity to enjoy and achieve through sport.
