Princess Charlotte Elizabeth Diana wasn’t the only bundle of joy to make their grand entrance into the world on Saturday (May 2).

Adorable Charlie Paul Bamber was one of eight babies born at the Countess of Chester Hospital on the same day as the royal family's newest addition.

He arrived at 5.49pm, weighing in at 8lb 3oz - the same as Princess Charlotte.

Baby Charlie arrived right on schedule as, rather unusually, he was born on his due date.

Charlie’s thrilled parents Lee Bamber, 26, and 23-year-old Emily Leeming, of Ellesmere Port, say their first child is settling in well at home.

Lee said it was ‘great’ that the newborn will share his birthday with the Queen's great-granddaughter and even speculated that she might be called Charlie for short.

Lee added that he wished to thank the ‘brilliant and helpful’ staff at the Countess.

Lee and Emily will now be eligible to apply for one of 2,015 'lucky' silver pennies for Charlie as he was born on the same day as the fourth in line to the throne.
