Ellesmere Port and Neston MP Justin Madders (Lab) has set up shop on Ellesmere Port’s main high street.

The MP, elected last May, had pledged to find a town centre location for his office.

On a temporary basis he moved into the Stanlaw Abbey Business Centre on Dover Drive. Following the move to 23 Whitby Road, the office was declared officially open by former MP for Ellesmere Port & Neston Andrew Miller.

Mr Miller said: “I was delighted to be able to join Justin on this landmark occasion and wish him all the best for the future in his new location. I know that he has always wanted to be close to his constituents and this high street office enables him to be accessible to all. I hope he has many happy years there.”

The office is open 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday every week except during Christmas when calls are monitored and urgent cases dealt with. It is staffed by manager Sue Pugh, Eve Phelan and Catherine Sherlock who keep the office running while the MP is in Westminster or out in the constituency.

Mr Madders points out he holds regular surgeries both in Ellesmere Port and in Neston for residents who wish to speak to him personally but issues can be dealt with much quicker by email through justin.madders.mp@parliament.uk or by giving the office a call on 0151 355 2365. Surgeries are by appointment only.

Mr Madders said: “I am very happy to have found a location where I can be close to people and have an office available to constituents when they need my services or just want to let me know their feelings on a particular issue. It means a lot to me to keep in touch with local people, after all I was elected to represent them in Parliament and in the constituency and I now have a great base to work from.”
