An Ellesmere Port man suffered a fractured pelvis in a late-night assault.

Cheshire Police arrested a 28-year-old man in relation to the attack on November 21 and are asking for witnesses to come forward with information.

The victim was walking along Westminster Road when he became involved in the scuffle near the junction with John Nicholas Crescent.

He was assaulted by another man at some point between 11pm on the Saturday and 12.15am the next day.

Officers are particularly keen to trace two potential witnesses believed to have been in the area at the time.

The 28-year-old man has been bailed pending further inquiries.
