Ellesmere Port and District Lions Club is rounding off its arrangements for its annual community firework spectacular.

The entertainment is again taking place in Whitby Park, Stanney Lane on Friday, November 4.

The Lions say that this year and hopefully in years to come, with the usual ‘fantastic support’ of the community, the club can continue with the very popular family friendly and safe firework display and fun evening which it believes has to be one of the best in the north west.

The event will open at 4.30pm with the fun fair which will be on the car park at the park.

This car park will be closed from 6pm on Thursday, November 3 until 8am on Saturday, November 5 with parking available at the Civic Hall and town centre main car parks.

There will be entertainment and music plus fun fair rides for all ages and plenty of refreshments and various stalls.

The ‘must see’ firework spectacular will be at 7.30pm. Entrance to the event will be by bucket donation.

A Lions spokesman said: “Please be generous in order that we can continue to stage the event and serve the Ellesmere Port community by helping those less fortunate who may need our support. Every last penny raised will go to this cause.”

He added: “This is a family non alcohol event and alcohol will not be available or allowed at the event.”

Last year’s event drew 5,000 people to Whitby Park. The Lions said the show was a ‘fabulous success’ with all ages, families and groups enjoying the show.
