Dozens of homes in Ellesmere Port have spent the day without electricity as engineers work to correct a cable fault.

About 40 houses in areas including Pooltown Road and on the Rivacre Estate had to have their electricity shut off to repair the problem, and it is not known when full working order will be restored.

A Scottish Power spokesperson told The Pioneer: "Our engineers are working hard to rectify this cable fault as quickly as possible. In the meantime we apologise for the delay and assure residents that our engineers will be working through the night."
