Emergency services are currently on the scene of a large fire in Ellesmere Port.

The blaze, which was reported at 6.36am on Monday (June 2) at an industrial premises at Meadow Lane, is believed to be producing a significant amount of smoke which is visible from the nearby motorway, but not obscuring visibility.

However, there are significant tailbacks on the M53 as traffic passes near to the scene, and motorists are advised to expect delays during this morning′s rush hour.

Police have established a cordon around the scene of the fire, and Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service are currently dealing with it.

There are no casualties reported.
