DIY giant B&Q has confirmed that its Ellesmere Port store will be closing in February 2016 and that a closing down sale is under way.

But the company is keen to point out to its customers in the Ellesmere Port area that trading will continue at its stores in Chester and Wallasey.

Customers will also be able to take advantage of B&Q’s online store, diy.com, which gives shoppers 24 hours access to more than 19,000 products seven days a week.

Chester store manager Phil Stephens said: “We look forward to welcoming our new customers and want to reassure them that we will endeavour to continue to offer the excellent service which they received in Ellesmere Port.

“We have a great team in Chester who do a fantastic job in making sure our customers get everything they need to make their homes a better place to live and we are going to be joined by some of the Ellesmere Port team so customers will see some familiar faces.”

From December 14, B&Q Ellesmere Port is remaining open for a closing down sale, where customers will have the opportunity to take advantage of some extra special offers. The store will close on February 27.

Click and Collect is no longer available at the store.

Any customers wishing to purchase kitchens, bedrooms and bathrooms or wanting to purchase from Tradepoint or use the click and collect service, B&Q club or Diamond club cards will be best served at the Chester store or by visiting diy.com.
