Ellesmere Port’s University Church of England Academy is organising a sixth form information evening and careers fair.

The Whitby Road academy is inviting prospective students to attend the event on Thursday February 4 from 6.30pm.

Principal Tom Hutchinson will speak at 7pm.

Students will have the chance to take a tour of the £25m campus and discover the choice of post-16 courses on offer.

Throughout the event the range of organisations attending will be able to provide students with career advice and guidance.

They will include the University of Chester, Liverpool Hope University, Glyndwr University, the University of Central Lancashire, Bangor University, Edge Hill University, the Army and Navy, the NHS, training provider TTE, Vauxhall Motors, Capenhurst Nuclear Services and Aldi.

The academy offers a wide range of subjects for sixth form students to study with the ABC running from applied science, art & design, biology and business studies to product design, sport and travel and tourism.

In between is everything from chemistry, engineering, English language and literature and French to geography, maths, performing arts and physics.

Students will be provided with a welcome pack containing all the information they need to know about studying at UCEA including a course brochure and application form.

Advice and guidance will be available from staff.

The academy points to 49% of sixth form students achieving A*-A grades or equivalent last year, 98% gaining their first choice university place and 96% passing their A level courses.
