PUPILS and staff at Eaton Primary School near Tarporley are officially among the best in the country.
The school is celebrating after being named outstanding in a recent Ofsted inspection under the body’s new and tougher inspection framework which was introduced last autumn.
It is only the third primary school in the entire borough to be given the accolade
The 104-pupil school was given outstanding ratings in all four categories – achievement of pupils; quality of teaching; behaviour and safety of pupils; leadership and management.
The report found that leaders ‘unfailingly’ set the highest expectations for staff and pupils and have successfully raised the school’s performance since the previous inspection.
The quality of teaching was described as outstanding and never less than good, while pupils’ attainment was noted as consistently well above average in English and mathematics at the end of Year 6.
