There were minor delays on the M53 this morning (Monday, July 11) after a car was involved in a collision with the central reservation.

The accident, involving a black Vauxhall Corsa, happened on the southbound carriageway in the Ellesmere Port area, between junctions 6 and 7, at about 10am.

Cheshire Police spokeswoman Emma James said the incident was dealt with by the Highways Agency. There were no injuries and no ambulance was required.

However, she said there were minor delays partly due to an oil spillage which had to be cleared up.
