A dog walker discovered suspected stolen goods hidden in  Stanney Woods.

Over the past few weeks a number of sheds have been broken into across Ellesmere Port with thieves stealing gardening equipment and electrical  items.

Now police are appealing for help after a dog walker uncovered a number of suspected stolen items while walking his dog in Stanney Woods.

The compressor, bright orange leaf blower and blue/green pressure  washer were found hidden in the  bushes, at around 12.30pm on Tuesday.

The dog walker moved the items to a more visible spot, off Thirlmere  Road and called the police.

Then at around 3.30pm on the same  day, police recieved a call from another member of the public who discovered a bike abandoned near railings in the nearby car park.

Police have launched a social media  appeal for the owners of the recovered items to come forwards, and  are asking for residents to check their sheds to see if any items have been taken.

“Almost certainly they have been dumped having been stolen,” said  helpdesk officer Steve Humphries.

“We think possibly from sheds on the nearby estate and the owners  have either not told the police or not discovered their sheds broken into.”
