HUNDREDS of residents turned out in force to celebrate the Dodleston Village Festival.

About 400 people saw what the festival had to offer, including a parade, bric-a-brac stalls, stocks, a fancy dress contest on the theme of Great Britain and a beat the goalie competition.

Special guest on the day was Olympic torch-bearer Hannah Jones from Chester, who brought the torch with her to the festival, while Chester MP Stephen Mosley also paid a visit.

Proceeds from the day are split three ways to Dodleston Village Foundation, which organised the event, St Mary’s Church and Dodleston CofE Primary School.
