Residents in Eccleston, Dodleston, Pulford and surrounding areas were left without water this morning following a burst main.

Work is currently under way to repair the problem which occurred at around 5.15am.

Dee Valley Water said homeowners were switched to an alternative supply about two hours later although some may experience “poor pressure”.

The company expects supplies to return to normal by mid-afternoon.

Residents have been warned that their water may be discoloured during or after the repair work.

A spokesperson for Dee Valley Water said: “A water main has burst on the outskirts of Holt causing no water or poor pressures to Holt, Farndon, Churton, Eccleston, Poulton, Rossett, Dodleston, Pulford and surrounding areas.

“We are in the process of isolating the burst which should bring water back to many properties and we are organising repairs.

“It is possible you may experience discoloured or aerated water during or following repairs. If this occurs, please run cold kitchen tap until clear.

“We are using all our resources to return the supply back to normal and we apologise for any inconvenience caused.”
