Motorists heading towards Chester on the M56 face delays due to a vehicle fire.
One lane of the westbound carriageway between junctions 11 and 12 had to be closed while emergency services tackled the blaze this Thursday afternoon (December 15).
Traffic is moving slowly as a result of the incident, and motorists are advised to avoid the area while congestion eases.
A spokesperson for Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "Firefighters were called to a car fire and used a hose reel to extinguish it.
"The hard shoulder and lane one of the motorway was closed while the incident was dealt with."
