Thousands of cheerleaders from across  the country descended on the Telford International Centre for the British Cheerleading Association’s 2014 National Championship.

Members of Deva Cheerleading Academy, who cheer for the Cheshire Phoenix, took part in the two-day event which saw them competing against teams from all over the UK.

On the Saturday, DCA’s senior (ages 11+)  and youth (ages five-11) teams both competed, performing athletic routines combining stunts, dance and tumbles. The  Sunday competition allowed DCA’s senior  and junior stunt teams to demonstrate their more advanced gravity-defying skills, with the senior team even bringing home a trophy for fourth place.

All cheerleaders, parents and supporters had a fantastic time at this exciting event and are already looking forward to their next competition.

DCA is a beginner team with members of mixed abilities and are now welcoming new members to join.
