One lane is closed and traffic is backed up on the M56 this morning following an accident.
Lane one of three is closed heading away from Chester towards Manchester due to the accident on the eastbound carriageway between J12 at Runcorn and J11 at Preston Brook.
Drivers are advised to expect delays while the incident is dealt with, although normal traffic conditions are expected to resume before 9am.
It comes just hours after lanes were closed after a multi-vehicle smash on the motorway at junction 12 yesterday after a car hit the central reservation. Nobody was injured in the incident.
