Police have confirmed the death of a male cyclist following a collision just outside Northwich yesterday afternoon (July 13).

The collision involved a red HGV and the cyclist and occurred on the eastbound carriageway of the A556 at around 4.30pm.

Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service , North West Ambulance Service and Cheshire Constabulary attended the incident, but sadly the cyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.

He is believed to be a local man, although formal identification has yet to take place.

Officers from Cheshire Roads Policing Team are appealing for witnesses to get in touch.
