A cyclist was taken to hospital after being involved in a collision in Chester city centre .

The 22-year-old male was injured following the collision involving a Jaguar car close to the junction of Pepper Street and Bridge Street outside Tesco Express about 9.30am this morning (Thursday, June 30).

Cheshire Police spokeswoman Rachel Hayes understood the casualty had suffered minor injuries but had been taken to hospital by ambulance for a check-up.

She said the cyclist was ‘going through the junction’ when the collision occurred.

Passersby report the area was congested for a time due to the incident and presence of emergency vehicles.
