THERE are reports of ‘severe’ congestion eastbound on the M56 between Hapsford and Runcorn.
BBC Travel said at 3.30pm today (Friday) that the slow moving traffic was caused by an earlier broken down vehicle between junction 14 for the A5117 and junction 12 for the A557 at Sutton Weaver.
The disruption follows earlier problems westbound at junction 12 on the M56 caused by emergency repairs to an expansion joint.
Traffic on that section is now moving freely.
