A magician from Chester and one from North Wales have won The Mersey Dee inter magic club competition in Liverpool.

Stephen Cooil, from Saughall, and Scott Prior, from Connahs Quay, won the competition for The Chester Guild.

Four clubs took part including the Chester Guild of Magicians, Liverpool Mahatma Magic Circle, Liverpool Magic Circle and North Wales Magic Circle.

Stephen, who is the current holder of The Chester Guild of Magicians close up magic competition award, was the individual winner with the highest marks in the competition.

He is an active performer with his close up magic at weddings, corporate functions and private parties and is also a children’s entertainer.

He first won the Chester Guild close up competition when he was 16.

Scott is currently the youngest member of the Chester Guild.
