Motorists faced congestion this morning (Monday, March 2) due to two crashes in rural Cheshire.

A collision involving a cyclist and a vehicle on the A56 Chester Road in Mickle Trafford between the B5132 Ince Lane and Plemstall Way junctions caused severe disruption.

An accident on the A51 in Tarporley at the Four Lane Ends junction near the Red Fox also caused slow traffic.

The collision, which involved a VW Polo and an HGV lorry, occurred at around 7am.

A spokesman for Cheshire Constabulary said the 26-year-old driver of the car had been taken to hospital with minor injuries.

A spokeswoman for the North West Ambulance Service added: "A female has been taken to the Countess of Chester Hospital by ambulance."
