AN ELLESMERE Port football team have come up with an un-usual way to secure sponsorship from a local company next season.

Grange Athletic FC is offering businesses the opportunity to enter a prize draw with the winner having their name and logo emblazoned on the team's shirts.

The club went up to West Cheshire League Division Two last season after finishing second and are hoping to follow up with another promotion bid.

Unfortunately, the company which had agreed to sponsor the team pulled out and they are now in need of a new backer to pay for the facilities at West Cheshire College where they play their home games.

A company gets two entries into the draw by paying £20 with the winner being pulled out of the hat during a presentation evening likely to be at The Bull in Little Sutton on Saturday, July 7.

Club treasurer Antonio Giansante said: 'The facilities at the college are of an extremely high standard and the pitch is without doubt one of the best in the lea gue.

'It is of importance to us to secure the pitch for the next few seasons. The club is now looking to push on to the next level and we need a sponsor who is willing to back us and help provide quality equipment.'

The club requires a new kit, team polo shirts to be worn by the squad before and after games, match and training balls, medical equipment and money to secure the pitch at West Cheshire College.

They will be facing teams from across Cheshire, Wirral and Merseyside giving potential sponsors coverage outside the borough.
