The popular annual Teddy Bear’s Picnic will return to Cholmondeley Castle Gardens on August 14.

This year the event is being organised by local children’s charity The Wingate Centre, a specialist holiday centre that provides residential breaks and sports and recreation activities for children and young adults with disabilities.

The Wingate Centre, based only four miles from Cholmondeley Castle, was the chosen charity for the 2016 event.

Armed with volunteers, the charity has a whole host of fun activities planned, including hook a duck, the teddy tombola, arts and crafts, bouncy castle, bear hunt, Punch and Judy, face painting, Pimm's Tent, and a special Frozen performance from Princess Elsa.

David Cholmondeley, the Marquess of Cholmondeley and patron of The Wingate Centre, said: “We are delighted to be working with The Wingate Centre to host this wonderful event for families in the area.

"The Wingate Centre is a special place that provides life changing activities for young people with disabilities.

"We look forward to welcoming local families to Cholmondeley for a fantastic fun filled day, and to help raise money for a very worthy local cause!”

Katie Heirene, fundraising o-ordinator at The Wingate Centre, added: “We are very excited about the Teddy Bear’s Picnic and have spent weeks preparing lots of fun activities for families so that they can enjoy a lovely day out that won’t break the bank!

"Please come and join us and bring along your furry friends, and a picnic of course, at one of the Cheshire’s most beautiful venues!”

Gates open at 11am and close at 5pm.

Adult tickets cost £7, children's cost £4 and under threes go free.

If you book your tickets online you will receive a free child ticket with every adult ticket purchased and a larger proportion of your ticket proceeds will go to The Wingate Centre.
