CHILDREN’S writer Alan Durant visited Bickerton Primary School to open its recently refurbished library.
Alan cut the ribbons before spending the day with pupils, treating them to writing workshops and talks. As Bickerton’s new school laureate, Alan will return for future visits.
Teacher Katy Boothby, who organises the library with teaching assistant Sandra Chesworth, said: “It was a great experience for all of our children to meet a children’s author and find out about his work.
“It also raised the profile of reading and books, and encouraged more children to read for pleasure.”
