THE summer schools programme at the Brindley in Runcorn has been launched.

There will be the chance to edit films, make 'floaty fairies', get involved in musical events and feature in a production of 'Wind In The Willows'.

A children's stained glass workshop will give children the chance to make their own glass pictures with artist Natalie McGahan, with paint and glitter. Tickets, £2.50, are available from the box office.

Bitesize Dance Workshops for those aged five-11 will take place from Monday, July 30, to Friday, August 3, for £20 for five half-day sessions.

Children can make 'floaty fairies' on Thursday, August 2. The event, for seven to 14-year-olds costs £2.50. Adults can enjoy a life drawing day at The Brindley on Saturday, August 18. A fee of £15 includes materials.

Anyone who wants to create watercolours can enjoy the opportunity to create two paintings in the grounds at Norton Priory. Places must be booked in advance from The Brindley box office.

Those interested in making movies can learn how to shoot and edit footage to create professional film, drama or documentaries using the latest technology. The event takes place on Monday, August 20. Tickets are £50.

On Tuesday, August 28 and Saturday, September 1, BAFTA award-winning composer Bill Connon will lead a summer school for musicians wanting to learn how to score films. Tickets are £50 or £80 for both events.

The summer school prog ramme climaxes with a Brindley Summer School production of The Wind in The Willows.

Those selected to take part will get two weeks tuition to put on a production of the timeless tale. The cost is £110 per person, with rehearsals starting on Monday, August 6.
