AFTER the success of the filming weekend a couple of weeks ago, we got back into the rehearsal room last Friday and started working through the script again from the beginning.

On Saturday, the children’s chorus joined us for the first time – their representation of the Garden of Eden was totally magical!

So far, the chorus has been working with music director Matt Baker, but they’ve now been joined by movement director Katherine Robinson from The Hammond.

“The children have been amazing,” commented Matt. “They are so willing and creative that all we have to do is make sure that their ideas are incorporated and give it some focus so that the audience will be able to see and appreciate everything.”

Saturday also saw the first get together for the props team. A list of about 150 props had been put together by the stage managers.

“It’s a really interesting mix of things to make, find and buy,” explained Matt Crummack, stage manager.

“Everything from the crown of thorns through to bits of skeleton and a 1950s metal torch!”

And this is something you could help with. In return for a credit in the souvenir programme, can you help us by lending or giving items for props (or costumes)?

In particular, we’re looking for shopping bags (like the natural looking ones from popular supermarkets but plain, without any logos), canvas shoulder bags/knapsacks, and a broken or unused iPad.

Company members are also scouring charity and high street shops for red or blue 50s style dresses (choir), Aran jumpers and lumberjack shirts (shepherds), green or khaki combat gear (soldiers) and 50s style school uniform (school children in Creation).
