ASPIRING entrepreneurs have put down their revision books and picked up sponges and buckets for a fundraising car wash.

Pupils from Frodsham Manor House Primary School enjoyed cleaning more than 30 cars to raise money for a well earned London trip.

The car wash was part of a young entrepreneurs programme, which will see the Year 6 pupils travel to the capital after a year of fundraising activities.

So far the children have raised more than £1,000 enjoying bake sales, discos and raffles, along with the car wash which marked the last week of hard work for their SATs.

Year 6 teacher Sarah Harrison said: “This was the final project of our young entrepreneurs programme which runs throughout Year 6.

“Over the last few months the class has organised a disco, raffle, made home made cards, bag packing, a themed fair and car wash, having passed a Dragons Den-style interview process.

“The children had a great day although they were all wet and tired by the end of it.”

Motorists, including teachers, parents, friends and relatives, enjoyed cake and hot drinks while the students washed their cars.
