CHILDREN across Chester have been celebrating Christmas with performances of the Nativity, modern Christmas plays and carol singing.

Pupils at Aldford School, the junior school of Abbey Gate College, performed their Nativity play ‘The Gigantic Star’ in the local church on Thursday, December 9. Pupils aged between 4 and 7 years old delighted the congregation with their musical version of the Christmas story from the viewpoint of the star that led the way to Bethlehem.

The following day, older pupils sang to the pensioners of the Silver and Gold Club at their carol service and Christmas party.

Girls at the Queen’s Lower School entertained visitors to Chester’s Winter Wonderland with a medley of Christmas carols and songs from their Year 3 and 4 production of Scrooge. The senior school’s Junior Choir and Chamber Choir also sang carols.
