WOMEN in Chester are urged to seize their last chance to enter Tesco and Cancer Research UK’s Race for Life.

Places still remain for the 5k event in the city centre on Sunday, June 19, although 3,914 women have accepted the invitation to ‘join the girls’ for the UK’s largest female-only fundraiser.

Event manager Gemma Turpin said: “We are absolutely thrilled that so many women have entered. They will help us create a fantastic atmosphere and raise crucial funds to help beat cancer. But we don’t want anyone to miss out.

“Women of all ages, abilities, shapes and sizes take part in Race for Life. They motivate and inspire each other to complete the course. Many simply walk round, chatting and having fun but they all share the wonderful atmosphere.”

More than four thousand women took part in last year’s race in Chester, helping to raise £194,100.

Entry closes on Thursday, June 16, and organisers are encouraging mums, daughters, grannies, sisters, friends and workmates to enter as soon as possible at www.raceforlife.org.uk or by calling 0871 641 1111.
