Chester woman Liz Evans was delighted when she heard she was a lucky winner in a competition to see her idol Will Young in concert.

But the keen fan faced only one problem - as a wheelchair user with cerebral palsy, she wasn’t sure how she’d manage to get there as she had nobody to take her.

With disappointment looming, Chester company Viva Assist was able to get the problem sorted and make sure Liz could really enjoy her prize from Dee 106.3 radio station.

Already helping Liz with the day-to- day tasks that she needs some support with such as shopping, Viva Assist stepped in to arrange for someone to attend the concert with Liz - making sure she not only got there but she also had all the assistance she needed throughout the evening.

Liz, who lives in Lache, said: “Will was amazing. I’m so glad I made it to see him. It’s a memory that I’ll never forget. Viva Assist are excellent. I’ve been with them since 2012, they’re all very caring.”

She is just one of a number of local customers who Viva Assist visit weekly to help with a variety of tasks from running errands to accompanying people to appointments.

The company was formed when owner Sarah Rugg noticed a real need for the services when her own Nan became ill but didn’t yet need a care agency.
