Water supplies are back on across Chester after many households experienced problems o n Sunday (November 29) caused by an electrical power dip.

Dee Valley Water has confirmed ‘All our water supply systems are operating normally’ after supplies are believed to have been restored about 7.30pm on Sunday night.

Flickering lights, poor water pressure and in some cases, a lack of water at all, was down to a power outage in the city, which tripped pumps feeding the area.

Dee Valley Water apologised for any disruption via its website and dispatched engineers who worked to resolve problems caused by the electrical interruption.

Many customers took to The Chronicle Facebook page to air their frustrations as well as their appreciation for Dee Valley’s efforts.

Geoffrey Bennett commented: “Top marks to our water supplier for keeping us informed of the problem and their progress in dealing with it.”

Sandra Ollerhead posted: “Yes in Newton no water for a couple of hours! Back on now.”

Frederique Tailleur said Long lane in Upton was affected but on Sunday evening confirmed: “Getting back to normal slowly.” Gary Hoxworth said Elton had also experienced supply problems.

Customers reported the water supply problem was affecting heating systems as well.

Gill Madgin said during the incident: “We’re in Upton by the zoo and we don’t have any, or heating!”

Sarah Nicholls posted: “Lights flashed on and off in Hoole . Had no water or heating. Back on now though but still having slight problems with heating.”
