VOLUNTEER Centre Chester has teamed up with construction students at West Cheshire College to give Chester Aid to the Homeless Day Centre a much needed makeover.

This has been inspired by Student Volunteer Week 2013 from February 11-16.

Student Volunteer Week celebrates the value of the volunteering work carried out by further and higher education students across the UK.

This is a fantastic opportunity for local students to give something back to their communities - 32% students volunteered at least once a week during 2011 and 51% of recent graduates under 30 who are in paid work say that volunteering helped them to secure employment.

Volunteer development worker Dee Gunning said: “Volunteer Centre Chester has a wide range of opportunities available to match your skills and interests.

“Volunteering is an enriching and rewarding experience that can enable you to develop your skills and help you on your career path.”
