A Chester vintage boutique store will launch its own music bandstand this weekend.

Becnicks Wonder Emporium on Brook Street, Chester will provide a music post in its store for people to listen to music produced by local artists.

The bandstand sponsored by Junkbox - a Chester based independent label - will be launched on Sunday, October 2 and aims to give local artists a platform to promote their music.

Carrie Hyndman from Junkbox said: “With the local music scene really thriving at the moment and so many amazing artists from the Chester and North Wales area, we wanted to provide a platform to get this awesome music out to the masses.

“In addition to the growing open mic scene of Chester we wanted to provide the public with somewhere they can check out new music at their leisure.

“The bandstand features a listening post where you can ‘try before you buy’ and although it’s not huge there’s plenty of room to sit back, relax and enjoy some of what the local music scene has to offer.

“So far we have some amazing bands on board including Alx Green, Baby Brave, Campfire Social, Carl Foulkes-Jones, The Revolutionary Spirit, Seazoo and Shem Sharples, and many more.”

During the launch night, live music performances will be held by The Immediate, Baby Brave, Campfire Social, Alx Green, Tom Durkin and Mountainface.

Doors will be open from 5pm until 8pm before the event moves to Telford's Warehouse with a performance from Lizzy Farrall.
