Three men from Chester are travelling thousands of miles in an old banger to raise funds for the Chester Childbirth Appeal.

Mike Axon, Andy Portbury and Clark Cronin are taking part in this year’s Screwball Rally, travelling more than 2200 miles in an old paramedic car.

The rally will see more than 100 vehicles, all bought for £750 or less drive through France, Liechtenstein, Italy and Luxembourg raising money for different charities. In addition to this the Chester team will have to drive the extra miles from Chester to Dover and back.

Pat Daniels from the Chester Childbirth Appeal said: “The volunteers and all who work for Chester Childbirth Appeal are truly grateful for the help and support offered by Mike, Andy and Clark. Together, they have set a target of £1,500, aiming to use the money raised for the furnishing and up keep of the Comfort Zone’s garden for the benefit of our patients.”
