A BANNER stating Chester Town Hall is not open could be off putting for passers by, it was suggested.

The issue arose at a Cheshire West and Chester Council committee meeting when Garden Quarter councillor Bob Rudd (Lab) was among those pointing out the banner could be seen by members of the public walking past the building.

He believed the town hall should be encouraged to be open to public visits more often.

Borough culture chief Cllr Stuart Parker (Con, Chester Villages) agreed the banner could be off putting and said the matter would be raised.
