RAZZAMATAZ students from Chester took to the stage at Her Majesty’s Theatre in London, home to Phantom of the Opera.

They were among 300 students from across the country who took part in a gala performance, which was organised to celebrate the company’s 12 year anniversary.

Razzamataz Chester had nine students perform an eight minute dance piece which showcased their commercial street dance skills.

Principal Claire Larkin said: “The performance was a mash-up of Rihanna, Britney and Beyoncé and showed off the commercial element of our theatre school training.

“The opportunity was an incredible one, and to perform on a stage which is home to The Phantom of the Opera is a huge honour.”

The cast included Jack Langham, Elise Gray, Elisha Grimshaw, Elle Smith, Chloe Smith, Caitlin Rogan, Amber Woodbury, Amber Miller- Lease and Razzamataz Stage Scholarship winner Bethan Rhoden.

Bethan Rhoden was awarded a prestigious scholarship to Razzamataz Chester in association with The Stage newspaper this term and will receive free Razzamataz tuition throughout 2013.

Bethan said: “It was the best experience ever, I didn’t want it to end.”

Principal Claire Larkin added: “The students worked so hard on their piece and the standard of all the performances on the night was really high.

“I am so proud of the opportunities we offer at Razzamataz and for our students, this is a night they will never forget.”

Razzamataz Chester offers competitively priced classes for ages 4-18 years with additional classes being launched in the New Year.

Bookings are currently being taken for January’s free taster session.
